UDM breaks in the middle of a detail

So I was working on a client's car when I noticed a burning smell coming from the UDM. Immediately I turn off the UDM and as I lifted it off the car, I find that the pad was still sitting on the car. After further inspection, I find out that the whole counterweight assembly has been seperated from the UDM. Looks like it melted right off. Here are pics of the destroyed UDM. Fortunately, I have the PC to finish off the job.

I purchased the UDM from Autogeek. Is there any warranty on this item?

Wow! Someone upstairs must like you because you made it through that experience without seriously damaging your clients vehicle.

Guess you were just applying too much pressure! J/K

Fortunately, the pad and the counterweight assembly was sitting on top of the hood as I lifted up the UDM. I did notice that the motor was losing power. Weird, because I've put more pressure on the udm in the past and the motor was fine.
