Re: Need help: polishing super sticky paint.
I have been use Rupes UHS on sticky paint for years, it's the best polish for Sticky paint. By the way, you will need to prime the pad first.

Re: Need help: polishing super sticky paint.
If the paint is very sticky. The polish isnt as important as the machine choice IMO.
Forced rotstion machine, dont bother.
Sticky paint dont like long throws as well.
The ticket is porter cable or a free spinning 8mm da.
Does not create heat and runs cool.
I have worked on sticky paints where I almost threw the towel in. Untill I used the PC.

Re: Need help: polishing super sticky paint.
i am glad i came across this thread it actually happened to me this weekend on a toyota camry that was really oxidized. I of course went for me flex 3401 and grabbed some hd cut to start on the hood. I noticed it didn't have much of a working time then when it came to wipe off it was a pain. I seen that video Jason Rose did in Asia also and so i did no pressure and moved a lil faster which helped but wasn't the results i wanted. I grabbed some hd polish and tried it and got better results but it didn't get all of the oxidation so it wasn't gonna work. Finally i grabbed the meguiars g110 with meguiars ultimate compound and its working great. I haven't polished many vehicles and am no pro but it can get very frustrating because i thought "heavy oxidation grab the 3401 and get it done" but was totally wrong. I will take this as a good learning experience and next time hopefully its not so frustrating.

Need help: polishing super sticky paint.
I only use the 3401 on medium and hard paint. It's a no go for sticky paint, but soft as well. Doesn't finish good. Especially on black.
