What product to use to remove scuff mark?
Hi,
I have a new 2007 Honda Ridgeline and found a red scuff mark on my passenger front fender that must have happend in a parking lot even though I park way the heck away from everybody else, someone else must have as well.
It doesn't appear to have hurt the paint on the truck, and looks like it's ontop of the paint (i.e. the damage didn't rip the paint on the truck).
I'm wondering what I can use if anything to get the scuff mark off?
I was told that I could use Maguires clay bar and plenty of elbow grease and of course the lubricant that comes with the kit, so I've bought that kit yesterday but wanted a second or third opinion if that is the right product to use to try to rid this scuff mark off my new white truck.
Thanks,

Okay, yeah Im not even sure if it's paint or a mark left behind by a shopping cart.
Do you suppose it would hurt to try the clay bar on it and if that doesn't do anything then move up to a rubbing or polishing compound? Or will the clay bar end up sealing it in and making it even harder to remove?
I'm attempting to use the least abrasive product that I can to avoid any chance of actually damaging the paint on the truck.

Try using clay. It will not "seal" anything at all, it may remove any wax or sealant you have on in addition to the mark. Another product to try that is non-abrasive would be Klasse AIO or any other chemical "polish" paint cleaner.

Sure, OK on the clay bar first. Do not try the rubbing compound by hand. You will create marring which will be harder to get out than the paint transfer. In fact it will take machine buffing to take out the marring.

ScratchX is going to be your best bet. It's really good. It's designed to be used by hand but can be used with a DA. Clay will tough on getting any transfer out.

use a good paint polish, if none are in hand, Quixx and NuFinish make some that can be purchased at PepBoys and Wally World.
