    Using carpet extractor for vacuum?

    Hi guys

I'm looking to get a MYTEE-LITE™ 8070 or similar extractor.

Could I use machines like this as a vacuum though? We are vacuuming small pebbles, wrappers, small leaves, etc out of customer cars. We prefer not to use shop-vac for pre-vac and have a all-in-one tool.

We previously used the carpet extractor (same one as home depot rental, similar to Rug Doctor) where we just used it as a vacuum and extractor. Worked well...Not sure if Mytee can do the same.

I would use just a regular vacuum and use the extractor only for the extracting portion of the job.

I think the issue is going to be the nozzle--the opening in the extractor nozzle is pretty narrow and not going to allow larger debris to pass and it likely to clog. So you'd need to swap out the nozzle for a more traditional vac nozzle, and then put the "upholstery tool" back on.

I do it on occasion, but only for small particles, sand etc. And the only reason I use my carpet extractor (mytee HP60) as a pre-vac is because i put dual vac motors in it and get way more CFM and lift than any shop vac. Changing out the nozzle takes all of 10 seconds.

I noticed the Mytee Lite has the solution tube inside the vacuum tube. This doesn't help. The previous Kent C4 extractor worked really well as pre-vac and extractor.
