What to do with New Car before Wax arrives

I have a brand new car that has little if any protection on it now. Water beads slightly but when drying, the microfiber towel grabs and finish is not slick at all. I ordered polish, sealant and wax from Autogeek but it probably won't get here until later next week. I want to start the protection off right. Clean, clay, polish, seal, wax. Should I wait until the new supplies get here or go ahead and put something on it in the meantime? Its my daily driver and the weather forecast calls for rain all week.

I don't know how much difference a week makes. Do you have an indoor location to work on it? If you don't you won't be able to do too much out in the rain, anyway.

Agree. One week probably isn't a big deal. Or you could go to Wal Mart, Auto Zone, etc and pick up some Megs ultimate wash & wax if you're really worried about it. Would give you a little protection along with the wash until you're ready to do a full detail.

Thanks for input. I can make room in the garage for detail but everything has to go back in. Car stays outside unfortunately. I guess I can wait a week.

I understand the passion for your new baby... but, one week isn't going to make a difference.
Having said that, there are some decent products at Wally World, Autozone, etc. Most aren't worth the time of day, but, the Meguiar's line has some decent OTC products (just as an example). However, stay away from their microfiber towels which are a must when taking care of your car. All they sell are the Chinese make crappy towels that are only good for interior and maybe wheels.

    •A new car? Congratulations!
-It definitely needs to be protected. (ASAP!)
-It also needs to be driven. (A lot!)

    •So...If you want me to:
-While you're waiting on the detailing supplies...
I'll come over and get it. That way: at least one
of the above "situations" will be well-cared for.

What you do next week when all your stuff comes in is the same you would have to today before applying your wax. But if you really want something on right now head to Advanced Auto ,Pep Boys and find some Griots to put o on her for now

Just don't wash it it and touch it as little as possible. Damage is usually done when washing and rubbing the paint for various reasons.

I have seen cars not having any wax on them for extended periods of time and having no swirl marks because the owners did not even bother to wash the car. Of course not having wax exposes the paint to move UV damage but a week won't make any difference with that, especially at this time of year.

Congrats on the new car BTW
