New car decontaminate Yes or No?

We just got 2 new cars a 2015 Mustang GT convertible and a 2015 Jeep WranglerSahara Unlimited.
The Mustang will be garage kept and the Jeep will live outside. I have 2 questions.
    1) Should I decontaminate the paint before I wash seal and wax th cars?
    2) Both of the cars are white. In addition to sealing them would you still recommend topping off the sealant with a coat of wax? I have done that in the past when I had dark color cars and I was able to bring out a bit more reflection to the paint but with a white colored car I don't know if it will make a difference. What do you think?
    Thanks
    Stu

Do the baggy test to see if they need to be clayed or not.

Decontaminate a test spot and go from there? That would be my approach anyway. Keep in mind a lot of cars are still shipped via railway. Around here they come in by railway and don't appear to have paint protection film on them yet from the glimpses of them I catch through the slotted railcars they are often housed in. I believe the paint film only goes on a few panels before they hit trucks at a distribution lot/warehouse in route to dealerships. All manufacturers may not adhere to that same process though.

I won't hurt to do a clay just to make sure you have a good clean surface to start with and will know right away with that white paint whether IronX is reacting with anything.

I just clayed(with a clay bar, I had forgot my mitt) a newer Ford Edge the other day and had very little contamination show up on the clay. Probably could have gone with out folding over for the whole vehicle there was so little.

Nick has a thread where he IronXed his new Subaru and you could obviously see where the protective film was and was not from how the product reacted.

Stu, new cars travel by rail and truck car carriers. So applying iron x and then claying is a good idea. With the exception of adding a few steps to your process, it can't hurt.

For me, clay has never ended up as filthy since that initial decon when my car was brand new. And mine was prepped btw. I followed it with an AIO then a pure sealant. It went from white to blinding.

I was surprised there was so little, but the vehicle was very well maintained and may have been clayed before.

EVERY car I do, including brand new ones, get a 2 stage decontamination including IronX and clay. Highly recommend you do both.

Unless your car came in enclosed transport from the factory, yes.
