That is correct, less residue with the green tape. Also my friend that has a custom paint shop that I wet sand all his show cars and race cars said there is plastic in the the tape so it can be used with water. He showed this to me by pulling the tape apart, so it has two benefits.
I've used the 3m green tape a few times and it worked good for me. I used the blue one for quite a bit and still use it but I'm liking this new tape my friend gave me. It's a 3M tape as well but I don't know the name or number...it looks like just regular masking tape oh wait here is a picture of it
It's nice and wide and I've been looking for a wider tape. My friend that gave it to me warned me though that it may not sitck to the surface of a vehicle for no more then a day or two. I told him that most of the time I would tape up a vehicle a day before and then come back and polish it so he warned me that the next day I come in it could be on the floor but it hasen't happened to me.
I got to go and get some more so I'll get the name or number. Oh I'd be curious to hear what your experiance is with the green tape though, always like others experiance with certain things.
theres a chart at auto zone were i got it it says the blue is for houses ect and green for autos.i know mike phillips uses it from mequires and hes the one that said it dosnt leave any glue residu at all
