Pad size choice for buffing curved panels??
Hi all,
Yep this is my car (fully swirled out from previous owner) which I'm going to 3 step polish using pinnacle product.
I wanted to find out what size pads I should be using on the curved panels
I have a flex 3401 with 4, 5.5 and 6.5 inch backing plates using LC Hybrid Pads and the option of using a GG 3 inch RO.
Thanks in advance

Re: Pad size choice for buffing curved panels??
Generally speaking the smaller pads are going to contour better to the shape of curved (especially concave) panels, thereby allowing the pad to stay flat (in relation to the panel) a lot easier.
Depending on just how curved the panels are, I will typically use the 5" hybrids on the flex, but smaller 4" pads often get used too, and if I had a Kompact with 1", 2" and 3" pads, they too would get a work out...
If you are looking specifically at the hydrotechs, then I *think* they only come in 5.5" - if you can, opt for the thinner versions if for use on a non-forced rotation DA as these will transfer the power of the machine to the working face of the pad better, as they don't loose energy from the pad 'twisting' as much.
