CarPro Hydro2 vs Hydro2 Lite - cost difference

    Hi,

I'm curious about the cost of these two products.

Based on my calculations, the already-diluted and ready-to-use Hydro2 Lite is LESS expensive per ounce than the concentrated, Hydro2. This seems opposite of what I would normally expect.

    Here's an example:

Hydro2 - 500ml - $70 per bottle. At 3:1 dilution, per the instructions, the cost is ~$1.04 per ounce

    Hydro2 - 1 liter - $120 per bottle. At 3:1, the cost is ~$0.89 per ounce.

    Hydro2 Lite - 1 liter - $25 per bottle. This is ready-to-use at a cost of $0.74 per ounce.

Why is the ready-to-use LESS expensive?

Is there any advantage to getting the more expensive Hydro2 vs Hydro2 Lite?

    Thanks!
    - Lee

It will really come down to how far each product actually goes and how they perform.

H2L is less concentrated chemical compared to HydrO2 at 3:1 mixture. This is why H2L can be spray on, wiped off while HydrO2 at 3:1 can only be applied wet and rinsed off instead of spray on, wipe off.

You'll also notice H2L states ~3 months of durability while HydrO2 states up to 6 months of durability.

Yeah I think H2L is closer to H2 at 5:1 or 6:1. I have heard of guys using H2 at those dilutions as a spray and wipe.

    Get the "old school" HydrO2.

All bottle of hydro2 I've gone through state "durable up to 3 months". Has the formula been changed recently?

So I went with Hydro2. This stuff is so easy to use!! I coated the wheels on a new Focus ST. So far, I'm very impressed. Now we will see what the longevity/durability is like.
