What temps to use for heat gun

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of getting a heat gun to help speed up touch ups for stone chips.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Namely what are some safe temps and fan settings for car paint. I'm assuming excessive heat with damage the paint.

Get an electric portable hair dryer. Even on the hottest setting it is unlikely that you will burn paint or even deform the plastic bodywork.

But if you use a heat gun you almost assured of melting something. I have a heat gun that will get over 750 degrees. I never use it on a car's finish. Or even to shrink wire shrinkwrap.
