    OK, I'm cornfused.

Why can't you use the machine to get extremely close to the do-not-touch parts then finish by hand?

    did I miss something somewhere?

PS - favorite polish of choice for machine. How about one from autoparts stores.

Like Turtle Wax or Meguiars or _______

You can. That’s what you outta do. A few of of us just prefer to do the whole thing by hand. I like some peace and quiet during the final step. Lol.

One of the best things I ever did: bought the 20$ wen buffer, ripped the foam backing off to the platic plate, glued hook and loop. Now I use black 6" foam finishing pads to wax. I can apply liquid wax to my Durango in like 10 mins. Then start back over buffing with MF.

I just did this to my Black & Decker cheapo "polisher" I hope it will be perfect for putting wax/sealant on - I do have a GG6 that I got for my birthday 2 years ago for doing serious polishing jobs. Along with the GG 6" orbital I also a series of LC flat pads, a new 5" backing plate, and a few polishes to have fun with that I bought last month from AutoGeek.

Just machine waxed with my GG3 today. Incredibly fast to apply, much, much faster than hand application could ever be. The real value is the application is even, consistent and thin, which is very difficult to achieve by hand.
There you go ! 100 % agree. Uniformity and speed.

How does everyone feel about a 6" Palm polisher? Say one form Oreillys/harbor freight? We have used these many times over the years. Got away from them for the Rupes to wax. And have had issues with the pad leaving mars on the paint.

Don’t want to risk marring in the end after a whole lot of work. By hand only all the way for me too.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

So the difference in what we do, is that ours are retail paid waxes. We wash the vehicle, nano skin occasionally, degrease remove tar, then wax the vehicle. We are a production shop.
