Re: Best Menzerna combo
Yep, FG400 to start. Has excellent gloss (better than SI1500) and tons of cut. If you want something for the middle area I'd say get 1000 and 2000.
I have 1500, but tend to like 400, 1000, 2000 & 4000 as they have all the bases covered and where one has more cut / less gloss, the other will have less cut / more gloss. They really play well of each other when you compare them on the Menzerna chart.

I have not tried the 4500 what do you like better about it compared to the 4000? I may need to get some.
Thanks

Another vote for FG400 with SF4500.

I have FG400, PF2500, and SF4500. These 3 have covered all the bases for me so far as a weekend warrior.

I would like to weigh in with my opinion if you don't mind.
IMHO, SF4500 does not have quite enough pull behind it to properly finish out after a round of FG400. SF4000 is the better choice as it is rated at a 4 for cut and 10 for finish.
SF4500 is rated as a 2 for cut and 10 finish earning it a spot for when you need the maximum gloss after the panel has been properly polished.
My process would be something like an Orange Hybrid with FG400, SF4000 with a white hybrid, and SF4500 on black to achieve the ultimate gloss.
Also SF4000 can be used as a one step with a white pad where SF4500 does not have the cut capability to be effectively used as a one step.

Both SF4000 and SF4500 are great, however, IMO SF4500 gives a slightly better shine. Again, ever so slightly. Additionally, since SF4500 has very little cutting ability level 2 on Menzerna's chart. I really do not worry as much stripping off the clearcoat. I know with any polish you can eventually strip a clearcoat.
Since I already have removed the scratches and imperfections with FG400 all I care about is getting that perfect shine and I think SF4500 does it.
Again, my opinion and I am sure other people may see it differently....again, that's just me.

Keep in mind those are subjective numbers on that chart meant as a general guideline.

Re: Best Menzerna combo
thanks lads, I do occasionaly take my DA to work with me as toyota won't supplie a da or a rotary... So i'll definetly be going with the F400 followed up with SF4000. Usually i just end up doing a badly scratched pannel or somthing. I'm currently in the process of getting them to try n pay me for my work -_-, ontop of paying me to do regular details
