Leather Master's cleaner question about drying out the leather?

The leather seats in my car were discolored and after reading numerous posts, it looked like Leather Master's cleaner was the way to go. While it did a great job cleaning the leather, it seems like it dried it out. I have used the Leather Master's Protection Cream. But it is like the leather lost some of it's shine.

Has anyone else experienced this with Leather Master's cleaner?

Did you use leather masters leather vital after or just the protection cream? What kind of car are you using this on?

Is this new leather or old? I'm wondering if that shine is/was just built up dirt/oils and now it's just clean and natural looking.

This is how my leather looks. My leather is new and alot of people recommended leather masters. I didn't buy that vital stuff. Just the cream. This product seems to be one that is more natural and won't effect the leather. No shine just clean and soft.

It is a 1986 Mustang SVO, so 28 years old. I just used the protection cream. What does the Vital do? I wish I had taken some before pictures. The difference was dramatic. The leather is shiny everywhere and as far as I remember it has been since it was new. I will try to get some pictures.

Leather vital is a conditioner. With a car that old you will need something to bring back the softness after a strong cleaning. I use Sonax leather foam 90% of the time on my customers cars 1 step cleaning and conditioning.

So should I be using vital and protection cream? If I have already used protection cream, can I still use the vital or will I need to clean the leather again to remove the protection cream?

Thanks for the all the input. I have not used these products before, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
