    Rupes 75E mini and compounds

    Hello,

I know Rupes strongly recommends using the colour system for their polishers. (most of it i assume is obviously for sales).

But what's your experience with using Rupes polishers with other pads or compounds?

I have a bunch of buff and shine pads and Sonus SFX compounds/polishers.

    Thank you!

the Rupes system is designed to work together and it works great. its not just a sales gimmick. i have read of others using different pads and compounds and they all work, but i have not used it in those ways.

Re: Rupes 75E mini and compounds

I've used my Rupes machines with both Rupes pads and non-rupes pads... they work great either way. The Rupes pads seem to run smoother than the LC pads, however performance is not hindered in any way in my experiences.

I have yet to test out the rupes compounds and polishes, but I have been using Meguiar's, Menzerna, HD, CarPro, etc products with my Rupes machines and have always seen fantastic results.

Long story short, the Rupes machines are just that... machines. They can work just fine with other pads and products in addition to the Rupes pads and products.

    thank you guys.

that's what i was thinking. there's really no way that the compound formula can make it run smoother than any other formula.

i was just unsure and didn't want to spend the $$$ on Rupes compounds.

While we're on this. zmcgovern45, how do you like the Sonus SFX line?

On my 15ES I found the machine to handle BnF 5.5" pads to a degree but of course a lot better with Rupes pads.

On my mini, I tried LC 4" pads and the pads just aren't meant to be. Two of my 4" LC Hydrotech Cyan pads had their velcro ripped off on speed 3-4.

On the mini, I found the Rupes pads work best. Non-Rupes pads vibrate more than Rupes pads, at least in my experience...

I agree with 281, I have other pads and I still use them, but the small pads really do work better on the mini. I still use Megs MF Cutting disc and other pads on my 15, and like Zach, I have yet to try the Rupes polishes. Tundrapower likes them, but he also does not use them exclusively.
