Re: Need a New Polish that works a long time

Thank you for all the responses, especially cardaddy. One problem I found out today was my pad. I was using Lake Country low profile pads and could not get anything to work. In frustration I went back to my old pads Kompressor pads by Monello and boom everything started working just like old times. I have no idea where I got the Monello pads from and have just a few left. I did order some Lake Country Kompressor pads hope they are the same. The Lake Country low profile pads look great small 5" diameter and 7/8" inch thick but they load up way too fast and will not work with anything I tried them with. Thanks for all the help. Definitely will try some of the polishes mentioned because it ain't getting any cooler.

If I am having problems with polish drying out, sometimes a light shot of Megs detail spray (is it called final inspection?) on the pad can give me some more time.

Uber Compound, FG400 and HD all share some similar properties the are hybrids. SMAT and DAT all in one. The SMAT stop cutting when you stop polishing. The DAT diminish down as you work the product. I love the Uber nice long work time. I did a whole Tundra with that and white hex logic pads and it finished down LSP ready. I tested a finishing polish and could not see any massive improvement to warrant another step. If your only working on your cars get FG400 or Uber. Uber is pricey but to do correction with one compound yeah that can't be beat. None of these polishes will leave haze.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Menzerna FG400 is DAT based only while the others are hybrids.

Agreed. FG400 and Uber can often times cut incredibly well while finishing LSP ready or darn near.

Re: Need a New Polish that works a long time

I have found that whenever *insert compound/polish name* is sticking to the paint it usually has to do with the pad being used. Not sure really why this is but my best suggestion would be to try a different style pad to see if you experience the same issues. For example if you are using a MF pad try switching to a foam pad and see if it eliminates the "sticking" issue.

This recommendation is based on personal experience.
