Turtle Wax Jet Black Black Endura Shine Trim Coating

With the success I had using the Turtle Wax Jet Black Black Endura Shine Tire Coat, which was brought to us by HateSwirls (seen in this thread)
    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...today-wow.html

I decided to purchase the Jet Black Black Endura Shine Trim Coaitng. I couldn't pass up the $10 rewards that I got from Pep Boys for being a member of their rewards program. Out the door it was $7 and change. Regular price was $16.99.

What better way then to test it against a well known product in Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant to see how it compares with one of the best trim products.

For this I used a spare tirm piece. I will be letting this sit outside in the elements to see how they perform against each other. I will wash them with just soap and water and provide updates along the way.

Photos aren't the best as they were taken with my iphone and I was losing daylight. Will provide better photos later.

This is what the box looks like

    Contents within the box.
    2 Gloves
    1 Applicator
1 8 oz bottle of product

I prepped the trim with soap & water followed by Meguiar's D103. I then taped off the trim in half and applied each product as seen in the photo.

The turtle wax trim coating resembles the tire coating liquid. For all we know it could be the same product or maybe tweaked just a bit. But they are both blackish grey in color and very watery. As with each product a little goes a long way. I applied product on about a 1/4 inch from the top of the applicator. It was enough for this test.

I applied one coat of each product and pulled the tape line. As you can see WETS darkens the trim a bit and has the new trim look. TW darkens the trim a little more but also adds a sheen to it. The directions state that adding more layers will add more shine similar to the tire coating.

No problem. I'm curious myself to see how this compares.

the wolfgang side looks better IMHO, but i'm curious if the turtle wax can last as long as wolfgang.

If this lasts anything like the tire coating I will be all over it. The only problem is I don't like my trim as shiny as my tires. Ultimate Quick wax is about as glossy as I like it.

The gloss isn't too bad. As long as you apply a thin coat you will be fine. Of course if the trim is dry it will absorb more. I'll post a follow up this weekend.

Not yet. I will have to try it as I have both on another piece of trim.

Here is an update after a quick wash. Both products are holding up well after a week.

    TW trim coat.
You can see the sheen this gives to the trim. Some will like this and some will not.
