    New 2014 Black Tundra

    Hello all,

As the title lists I recently purchased a 2014 Attitute Black Toyota Tundra. It took a while to decide on the color but decided to go with black and endure the hardships that will follow.

Opted to not have the dealer polish the vehicle. However they did an inital wash. No damage just a few imperfections that will require minor correction.

I just ordered some new supplies as my stock was old and honestly having a Metallic grey 4runnner previously I didn't do much detailing. (Port Orchard, WA) lots of rain.

    My plan is to:
    1. Chemical guys CR wash and soak. I do not have a Foam cannon just a Greenworks 1500 pressure washer with detergent tank.
    2. Carpro Iron X spray to remove decontamination.
    3. Optimum NR then Optimum Clay
    4. Polish with Optimum Hyper polish (wan't to try this product) I have a PC 7424 with new white, black, blue, yellow pads. Have an oldish orange pad. These are pure foam pads. Lake C I believe. Bought them years ago.
    5. Opti Seal the vehicle then Optimum detail.

This is my tentative plan any tips/recommendations are appreciated.

    Thx

I've read mixed methods on the Iron X. Spray and sit or use a Mitt?

When I use iron x I usually will spray it onto one panel(starting from the top) at a time rub it in lightly to ensure even coverage then I will wait five minutes(make sure it dont dry on the paint) then rinse and keep doing so till the whole paintwork is decontaminated you also have iron x car wash its not as strong but it will do the job when time is in a pinch

My advice, get some new pads if they are years old. Polish is nothing w/o the right pads and foam loses it's density after multiple uses.

Pads have been in the package. Old but unopened.
