Help with Wolfgang products and application order

So I'm working on a 2011 black Audi (pain in the ass I know) I'm compounding with Uber Compound on a MF cutting pad as the orange CCS pad wasn't getting it done. My question is, do I follow it with total swirl remover on a white CCS pad to polish, or should I go to the Wolfgang Glaze? I am going to apply powelock to it, but I know you aren't supposed to put sealant on top of a glaze. Or do I need to use both the swirl remover, powelock, and then the glaze and wax? Please help.

If it was me I would use the swirl remover and white pad next then apply, powerlock(sealant) after that wax and then glaze....just my eight cents

I'd say see how uber finishes first. If it looks good, then go for the glaze. You don't want to unnecessarily remove clear/paint if you don't have to

A glaze on top of a wax? Haven't tried that before.

The glaze is not really a glaze, it's a fine polish.

Re: Help with Wolfgang products and application order

    Dear,

I don't know the correct answer to your question, but I can give some suggestions regarding on what you have - (you'll only know for sure what will be better after the test spot).

As said above, finishing glaze from wolfgang is a fine polish and a glaze, and it's supposed to be used prior wolfgang's sealant, so don't worry about the 'sealant over glaze' issue you were concerned. Also, like you're using Powerlock, I doubt you'll face any 'compatibility or bonding issues' with the combination above since all the products you have are supposed to work great together.

------ If using finishing glaze (from wolfgang in this case) over a sealant, odds are you'll 'harm' your sealant layer, since this product has abrasives. -------

If you're going to follow your compounding step with TSR (total swirl remover) or FG (finishing glaze) will depend on the outcome of your compounding step, and your expectations.

If you face the need of much improvement over the compounding step, I would try TSR on white pad. If not that much needed, I would try FG on white pad. If just slight improvement needed, maybe the FG on gray (I call black) finishing pad.

In some cases, even after using TSR on white pad you'll benefit from FG on black pad...

All said above, you'll only know for sure after testing a spot.

If you do your homework and use the products you have in a correct manner, you'll be blown by results at the end. You got it all!, nice choice of products to work with.

    Please, let us know,

    Kind Regards.

I love applying Chemical Guys EZ Cream Glaze over my wax.
It will add so much shine, you can use it as often as you like being there's no wax in it so no wax build up, sure it doesn't last long but perfect to use after a full wash when your going out on the town. It's acrylic based so it does last longer than some other glazes.
    I love it

    Tati,
Thank you very much for advice. I'm really hoping all get to enjoy the fruits of my labor, or at least the client. This car has been nothing but a pain in the ass to work on. Roughly 6 hours of compounding alone in 12 x 12 sections. I'll make sure to post some pictures when I get done. Thank you all for the advice!

FYI Wolfgang Finishing Glaze isn't a true glaze, it's a fine polish. Should clear up the marring from The Über compound.
    Back to the full-time grind.
