Re: Mothers: Launches M Tech line...

used both products today, the syn wax is easy on easy off, not noticeable fillers, will wait and see how long it lasts. so far seems decent. the detail spray is your average detail spray from what I can tell. works as you would expect. they both have a slight cinnamon scent to them.

M Tech Spray Wax = California Gold Spray Wax
M Tech Wash and Wax = California Gold Car Wash
M Tech Protectant = Mothers Protectant

Only one I am not sure of is the tire shine since I have never used a mothers tire dressing until the M Tech one. It is a nice tire dressing.

They are definitely priced right for anyone wanting to get into mothers products.

And the original question was *WHAT* product was re-bottled?
(Which has to have people wondering if it's now more, or less expensive.)

actually Tony it's less because the quanity is less.........now that I said that it's probably the same per oz.

any ways the M-line is a otc product and its made by Mothers sold by auto zone and fwiw they are good products that do what they say they do and in a pinch easy to find.

I don't really think there is a big secret about M-line.....it's out there it's easy to find.

If PBMG did not have their own house brands they COULD have their own line of rebranded Mothers products its all about $$$$

not saying Mothers is a company that just sells it's chemicals to any one.... like some other companies with tons of hype!

this sparked my interest when it first it came out.....and Forrest made his comment and I'll respect that......this is AGO after all.

I have the M-line on my shelf and will try these out when I can.......hey it's Mothers so I know they will perform....

    sorry for rant........just saying

Re: Mothers: Launches M Tech line...

It was never really stated what they were but the nose doesn't lie . When I used the detailer it had a cinnamon smell. Then when my brother was claying his car with showtime, I was like I know that smell. That's when I knew for sure as Mothers never really confirmed. Then at autozone I smelled both california gold syn wax and M tech syn wax and that confirmed that. The only one I could not figure out is the tire shine. It could be the reflections tire shine based on the photos I have seen.

Whether it's cheaper or not I will let you guys figure out the math. I also have the M Tech line waiting to be used.

Here are the oz in the bottles that I have
    M Tech Synthetic Wax = 12 oz @ $6.49
    M Tech Instant Detailer = 24 oz @ $6.99
    M Tech Spray Wax = 24 oz @ $7.99
    M Tech Tire Shine = 24 oz @ $6.49

    Their counter parts
    California Gold Synthetic Wax = 16 oz @ $8.99
    Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer = 24 oz @ $9.99
Mothers California Gold Spray Wax = 24 oz @ $9.99
Mothers Reflections Advanced Tire Care = 24 oz @ $9.99

I do need to use these along with the pro compound and polish on a car.

^^^I really like that house--cool design. And way to go using the new WRX to help market to the younger audience Seems like it's Mother's answer (marketing-wise) to Megs DUB line.

I will say one thing for the Synthetic wax, the stuff beads water like crazy, big fat beads to! sitting in my black SS with orange stripes looked like gum drops sitting on my hood. decided to do some correction a couple days back and followed with Ultimate Polish, collinite 845 to seal it up a bit and followed with the syn wax a couple days later. going to try and not wax it for as long as it beads nicely. see how long it takes for it to break down.

Really? Mine isn't beading that well for some reason. Anyway you should know that mothers says that it is basically a synthetic cleaner wax which means that your collinite was probably removed.
