What Music do you detail to?

Mostly Clay Aiken, but lately a lot LL Cool J Rock the Bells radio on Sirius XM. Or Tom Waits if it's late at night.

Play Dead. Yep, live Grateful Dead shows. I've got all 60+ live shows from 1977 right out of their soundboard (thank you Betty Cantor, Owsley Stanley, Rock Scully). I also like 1971, 72, 73, and 74. But 1977 was the best. They should have quit after 1978. Drugs affected the sound after that.

if i am listening to music it is country on the highway but most often i am listening to talk, news or audio books.

I started waxing cars in 1996 with the Megs Deep Crystal system.

In 1997 I got heavily into a band called Talk Show (Stone Temple Pilots w/ Dave Coutts singing). This would sustain through from 1997 to 2000-2001.

As a result I usually listen to 90's alternative/rock. Talk Show takes me back to some incredible times with my high school gf, and my intro into detailing. I always start with TS.

Seriously though, if I'm not getting my groove on with classic rock, heavily weighted with Journey, Kansas, Styx REO, Yes, etc. I'm listening to podcasts of some sort.
Since I'm in a shop I have the luxury of playing my audio through speakers instead of ear buds. And we're not just talking speakers, we're talking vintage Cerwin Vega loud speakers with 15" woofers that are essentially a piece of furniture and deliver the music in full rich clarity. No little cube speakers here and no need for a sub.
Don't get me wrong, I've got a very good 7.1 system in the house for movies but in the shop it's all about the music playing crystal clear and so loud I can't hear my polisher, vacuum, air compressor, etc.
