Flex 3401 or Rupes 21?
So ive been looking to pick up another machine, I was looking at them both and love how the rupes has no vibration and is easy to use. Haven't looked into the flex as much but im really just wanting something to cut faster and easier to get my cars done faster. Dusting or no dusting doesn't matter as I wash the vehicle after. Price doesnt matter either, if theres any other machines I should look at getting let me know thanks!

There's a million threads on this with a million opinions. I like my rupes 21 but haven't tried the flex.

My take on this is if your working on cars that are all jacked up get a Flex (more power / direct drive). If your working on decently maintained cars get a Rupes (easier operation / less fatigue).

Flex is next on my list, or a rotary, but that is because I just got my Rupes. I will say, a Rupes is the Audi of polishers. Refined, smooth and fast. I have seen a dramatic cut in time it takes to cover the same square foot. I do with it had the power of the GG but dang, it just goes.

Does the Rupes stop spinning like the PC does in certain sections of the car?
This is what I have heard from other detailers. I have not seen it first hand however.

If you watch the Mike Phillips videos, you will find that he uses the Porter Cable dual action polisher, and you never see pad stop spinning (except when he turns it off). If used correctly, you should not see that problem.

Rupes still vibrates not as much as gg or pc.
Flex is more versatile ime I always go back to it when im working on cars

Yes, because it's a free spindle assembly. You can use a modified washer that will help.

Did you center your pad? Runs smooth for me.
