    Mercedes C Class Pleather Interior.

A friend of mine just acquired a 1999 C Class with the vinyl interior.

Seems to be in pretty decent shape overall.

What can you guys recommend to clean, and then condition it afterwards.

Can leather conditioner be used on it with the same results, or something more specific is needed?

    Thanks.

Pleather is vinyl like you said, so the oils and conditioners in a leather cleaner and conditioner won't do you any good.

To clean, I'll often just use a damp rag or use the same Woolite mixture that I use in my car with treated leater. Spray the stuff on a damp rag and then wipe it all down or agitate the dirtier areas.

To protect it in the long run, there are a host of vinyl protectants out there. I've used Vinylex, 303 Aerospace, and Meguiars Interior protectants with good results for years.

I have the MB Tex or "pleather" on my 2013 C250 and I found that it is super easy to clean with a damp cloth or even mix in a little APC. I personally like to top it with some Meguiar's Natural Shine dressing to restore that factory look.

Even vinyl needs to be cleaned and protected like leather. CG Leather Cleaner and CG Leather Conditioner are a great combo. The conditioner, if nothing else, will leave a UV protectant on the surface. I've found it works best to apply it with MF pad by hand and work it in real good. Once you finish the whole car, then go back over everything and buff with a MF towel. This will give you a nice dry matte finish. Just don't ever condition leather or vinyl without a good cleaning first.

The cleaner dilutes 1:6 also so it will go a long way.

I agree with Matt-erhorn. I have MB Tex on my ML350 and it is easy to clean with nothing but a sponge and water. If the stain is stubborn (like blue jeans marks) I use a terry cloth towel and Griot's interior cleaner. It never needs more than that although here in Texas (because of the brutal summer sun) I give the entire interior UV protection with Protectant 303.

Would you please explain why you use a: Conditioner...on leather (or vinyl) auto-cabin materials.
    Thanks.
