Going down to a 5.5 inch backing plate

I read so many articals on how much better the smaller pads work compared to the larger pads.
So I ordered the BP which I received today and get my pads tomorrow.

What do you guys think is the biggest benifit going down from 6.5 to 5.5 pads?

So it should work fine on my GG3 DA?
I also bought it for tight spots, like between the door handle and window, back part of a trunk, etc.
My 5.0 looks so small next to my 6.0 backing plate.

I also use the 5" BL with 5.5" B&S Flat Face Pads.
The buffer will work better with the 5" BP and 5.5" pads When your 6" 7" pads load up with product they get heavy and the buffer has to work harder and will heat-up.

Or GG v.3? Too much pad for a GG3 but perfect for GG6. You can apply more pressure without the pad stopping rotation.

If I was doing deeper correction work smaller pads probably are better, but for light polishing or paint cleaners, 6.5" pads work well on a GG6. Plus, larger pads save time.
