Mobile Van Water Tank...i forgot something

So I bought a 55 gallon water tank for my 2012 ford transit.

I'm going to be using a Karcher pressure washer... So do i just hook the hose up to the tank and the other end to my Karcher? or is there a some sort of pump I'm missing.....

I will for sure have a thread of pictures when I'm done.

I am interested in this too as I was thinking about buying a pressure washer for my detach garage that does not have a water source.

My initial understanding is that the water tank needs to be elevated and gravity plays the roll of flowing the water to the pressure washer?

To the OP.... may I ask where you bought the water tank? Home Depot or Lowes?

For some reason im thinking the Karcher is self priming and doesn't need a pre pump. However, lets just say the pump wants a minimum of 20 psi from the tank, with very little water in it, it would have to be elevated 20 feet above the PW to achieve that kind of pressure..
I think volume will always be more important than the pressure in this case (just use a flex line or something that will not collapse if the pressure washer pulls a vacuum on the tank).

I use a flotek 3gpm 12 volt electric pump. wired to the van battery with a switch.
it puts out almost 3 gpm and runs 50psi.
I do not have a long hose for my pressure washer so i take it out of the van and have a 50 foot garden hose on a spool. i can put water wherever i need it.

Think about sheeting the car when you are done, it cannot be done with a pressure washer and it cannot be done without a lift pump.

I own a Karcher and they are self priming and suction from any source, pretty much as follows (

I think you will need a water pump, to pump more power. I have tried this before and I didn't get enough pressure at all. You might get a good pump when the tank it's fully full but once it begins to get low on water level, you will lose pressure. That's why I decided to get a gas one. Hope that helps you.

Well thanks for the great ideas and tips. I think what ill do is set up everything and see how it works. I have a feeling even though my pressure washer is self priming, well see.

I'll have to checkout the floted pump.m

As for the tank, I bought it from a company in Texas. $205 shipped 55 gallon came with aluminum strap things that bolt it down.

to mount mine i put some tracks on the floor and is adjustable - the place where you want the tank , look up for my post with the set-up van.
for water tank i have a 12v on demand pump / around 100$ shureflow or something like that, that feed the buckets and the pressure washer.
