    Generator how many watts?

Was wondering how many what's do you need for a vacuum, buffer, and a small electric pressure washer?

    Re: Generator how many watts?

In most cases, a 2KW generator should do fine. The Honda EU units are highly recommended (very quiet, clean 120 VAC, etc.) even at their higher price compared to the contractor grade generators.

Here's a previous thread on the same subject.

    Re: Generator how many watts?

im going to move up to a 4000 watt generator. only because i run a 2 man crew and we need to be able to run more than 1 thing at a time.

I posted in another thread.. but here is the calculation for wattage..

amps X volts. where safe volts would be 120, but you could calculate with 110.
so if you have a good vacuum it should pull at least 15 amps.
15 amps X 120 volts = 1800 watts (safe bet) so for 2 vacuums you need minimum of 3600 watts..
Now, with a generator there is PEAK watts and continuous watts. obviously you need continuous wattage.

Also small engine repair shops might be able to guide you in the direction of making your motors quieter.. or if you know a little about welding and cutting, you could silence your own equipment.
