Question Internet videos of pouring water on a waxed car

I have seen a ton of these videos using a hose or watering can pouring water on the hood on a recently waxed car. I have to chuckle each time. I have no idea what they prove. So I thought I would ask here...What am I missing?

It is to show the sheeting action of water running off the paint due to the protection (wax/sealant). This is evidence of a coating, wax, or sealant. Some products sheet better than others.

Lol I'm in the process of making a bunch of videos that do exactly what you just described!

It's to show you the beading and sheeting action as Al as said. If you compare to a place that has no wax or sealant, the difference is huge!

Some of these could be showing how to remove standing water after washing using the water flowing technique where you use a strong flow of water, not a spray or blast of water to create a solid sheet of water that runs off the car all at once to leave a more or less dry finish.

Richard Lin had a really good video showing this.

The benefit being now you don't have to "touch" the car to dry it off.

...but dont they all sheet the water well after a wax?
Mike I could see what you mentioned and in fact have removed the nozzle on my hose to sheet the water for ease of drying.
What I think is funny is that many of them have zero dialog, just some dude with a flowery water can pouring side to side.
