How Do You Protect Emblems?

Hi all,

I apologize if this has been posted before (it no doubt has, but I'm likely not using the right search keywords) but I am wondering what all you folks use to protect the little trim parts that cannot be waxed easily?


For example, My car has script emblems on it that say "Lincoln" "Town Car" and "Cartier" in addition to the wiper arms, rubber window trim, etc. .

These are small and detailed enough that I see no way to effectively wax the surface, and buff it without either A. breaking them, B. scratching the surrounding paint, or C. having white wax build up remain.

What all do you folks use for this stuff? I keep the car in a carport, and want it to look "like new" for as long as possible.


I see Turtle Wax has a "wash and wax" product they are advertising on Facebook, would this help offer some protection? Essentially I'd wash the car (which I do 2x a week) and then wash all the trim with this, to provide some wax protection to the trim.


I'm sure there is a better product out there, what can you folks recommend?

Optimum No Rinse Wash N Wax. If you wash your car twice a week, I have no doubt, your car will always have a nice layer of wax and should be protected.

Plus, a rinseless wash is so much easier than a normal wash. Saves time too!

Without trying to sound like I'm pushing my youtube video or anything, I do have a video explaining the fastest and safest (in my opinion) method to doing a rinseless wash.

You can always plasti dip them. You can get the matte clear which will give chrome a brushed aluminum look or you can do clear and spray with the glossifier to keep the original look or can you can spray them any color you want.

When you say script emblems...what do you mean? You mention wiper arms, rubber trim etc...for those you can use any trim product you like, for example Car Pro PERL for plastic rubber leather etc , but I can't tell if you mean the hood ornament, or the plastic lettering stuck on the paint of cars? If its the plastic lettering, just wash it, and use a spray sealant, will work fine, I use Black Fire Crystal Spray sealant. If its rubber or black or dark plastic, use trim products.

Unfortunately, Lincoln did away with the hood ornament on this generation. Working on that though.

The rinseless has wax in it. While you clean it with a microfiber in the ONRWW solution, you are protecting and applying wax to it.

How about Chemical Guys Hybrid V7. It has good durability for a spray and is a piece of cake to apply. When I use a spray wax/sealant after washing I try to concentrate on the annoying emblems on my truck. I feel a de-badge coming on this spring. lol
