What MF pads, machine, & polish?

Microfiber pads seem to be a hot topic, whether it is pad failure, how to clean them, which is the best, etc.. So out of curiosity what pad do you use and what machine are you using it/them with? What speed do you use? What compound or polish do you use?

    I currently use:

    Meguiar's DMC 5 or Lake Country Ultra Fiber 5 1/4" on Griot's 6" speed setting 4
    Meguiar's DMC 3 on Griot's 3" speed setting 6
Meguiar's D300, M101, M105, HD Cut, and currently testing an All In One

Re: What MF pads, machine, & polish?

i invested about 1 minute in lake country microfiber pads & megs ultimate compound. with a pc xp on spped 4, it simply wasnt spinning the pad. im going to try again when time allows & use a higher speed. I was just really apprehensive because of the pad failure threads when using higher speeds. other than that the pads seemed really well constructed.

I'm not suggesting you try because I don't want to be blamed for pad failure, but I did a whole car with the LC pads on speed 5 and 6 with my Griot's with no issue.

Meg's MF DMC5 and LC DA Ultra Fibers in various sizes.

    D300, M105, D300/M105, or D151.

PC7424XP on speed 5 (6 on curved edges to ensure pad rotation), throttled down to 4.5 for last section pass.

Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting pad. I use it with the G110v2 and W67DA backing plate speed 4. I've used it with D300 only but yesterday, I tried it with the D300/M105 mixture. I don't like it. M105 dries up the fibers too fast.

Re: What MF pads, machine, & polish?

As of the last few months....

Mainly Megs 6" MF Finishing on the Rupes LHR21 and 3" pads on the LHR75, both with D300 and occasionally a few other polishes.

I'll also use Opt finishing pads with Hyper Polish with the G110v2 on some cars...haven't tried them on the Rupes yet.
