    meguiars step#1 for wax removal?

hey there folks. my new sealant and wax is coming in tomorrow and i want to get rid of whatever is left over of the previous application of nxt tech wax. i was going through my bucket of OTC products (i keep the autogeek goodies in my closet where my clothes should be on the hanger, but are instead sprawled across the bedroom floor lol) and i found this meguiars paint cleaner step#1 bottle. it is a dark red bottle. i was wondering if this would work to strip any previous wax and leave me with a good surface to apply my wgdg sealant?

i think megs step one will remove old wax, just to be sure, you can wash your car with Dawn or do a wate/alcohol wipe down.

if you are not polishing or claying you can use dawn or ipa to remove all the old wax...i find that just a good washing is enough of a base for a new sealant or carnauba....add a little apc to the wash and you will be fine...

ive heard so many horror stories about dawn im paranoid to use it. i dont have to do any polishing the surface is pretty much good and free of contaminants and smooth as glass. what about a heavily concentrated nxt wash? like 8 capfuls for one gallon lol.

Is it the Deep Crystal System Pain Cleaner? If so, yes, it is designed to clean off the old wax and even do some minor swirl correction.

i probably should have elaorated on "good washing" = adding more soap to the wash to make it stronger will help remove old residue...i am not a fan of the ipa/dawn wash but it does work...

yeah the deep crystal process is junk. but we were all noobies at one point lol. i dont really need any swirl reduction or anything of that sort. i just want the previous wax stripped.
