    List your coating that failed!

Unfortunately this was the case with my coating. It held up beautifully for about 8 months and it was a 5 year from DIY.
will post pictures on next thread. using phone.

Roof and hood no beading nor sheating. Always did washes using reset and today will be re polishing it with something really light and just throw on new reset 2.0 to see how well that works. Than I will can coat it when that wears off. I’m not going to coat it till I find the best LSP

This might be the first negative I've heard from anything about DIY Detail. Honestly, it probably needed to happen since their fanbase is a little cult like.

Did you reach out to them and get any answers?

Re: List your coating that failed!

I've used six coatings from four different companies over the last years and never had a failure I could blame on the product. It's too bad DIY may have missed the mark on this one.

You mention the hood and roof are flat, but what about the sides? The pictures seem to look OK.

The reason I ask is from experience with my daughter's car. I coated that vehicle in the fall of 2020 when she left for college. From nearly day one, the roof and hood were totally flat and looked like I forgot to apply anything to those areas. However all the vertical surfaces still perform brilliantly to this day; over three years after application. No matter what I do to the hood and roof, the coating never seems to behave like it should on those two pannels. I can't explain it, and I've never seen anything like it.

In all reality I was always in such a hurry to wash it to drive a client. I would imagine it had failed a couple months prior. Almost zero beading or sheeting. I'm sure to get in touch with them today. And you are 100% right about them and there marketing tactics. I was shocked when I really decided to take my time yesterday and noticed it. I never used anything harsh on it! just washed it with reset But one time used BH diluted as normal.

Personally before i went and polished it off, i would try a decon wash. Its possible the coating is clogged up. Use a high alkiline soap, iron remover, descale, then hand wash with ph nuetral soap.

If you have hard water spots or anything use the descale in a bucket wash as it is more effective that way compared to foam cannon/rinse.

Check out mike g's channel on it if you have questions.

Yeah, that doesn't look good. The area between the window and the first crease by the door handle are pretty telling. At that angle the water should sheet/roll right off, not cling like you see there.
