    fixing clearcoat issues on hood of a BMW.

    Got a call from a new customer concerning his Green BMW hood having a lot of heavy swirls and a US dollar bill size of the clearcoat wearing out.What can be done about this problem.

    He will probably need a repaint if it's clear coat failure.

    I was thinking that but can it be smoothed out or can I use that new 3M 5000 grit wet sand paper too make it look better. I have a pic but it won't load.

    I called and told him too just get the hood repainted then I can polish and wax it.
