    Car emblems

What do you guys use to clean and wax around car emblems and nameplates? Do plain old Q-tips work or do they scratch paint?

I use small boars hair brush, with some quick detailer, and if needed a the foam"Q-tip" style brushes that are on the site.

    Boars Hair Brush:
    Interior Concours Brush

    Foam "Q-Tips":
The Edge Foam Detailing Tips, swab detailing tips, auto detail swabs, detail swabs
I use the Blue and White tips

    Quick Detailer:
DP Final Gloss™ Quick Detailer is a car detail spray to clean and shine your car between washes. Refresh car wax and paint sealants with this high

And I use these Microfiber towels for wax removal.
The Cobra Miracle Towel is a 75/25 blend of imported microfiber. Its one of our softest detailing towels!

    Hope this helps

But if you are going to debadge make sure that it does not have guide pins.

Can I get a quick tutorial on how to de-badge?
Pitfalls? Things to be careful of?

First research to make sure there is no guide pins because there will be holes in the car. All cars are different.

I use dental floss to work under the badge. You can use a hair dryer to help, do not overheat or you will blister paint.

Sometimes I will use some type of plastic soft scraper to help.

If your car is older there may be a different color due to fading under the badge. I debage mine as soon as I purchase one, just think it looks cleaner.

I usually will buff and polish the whole section the badge is in to make sure the evidence of the badge is gone.

Ive had sucess using one of those pen size brushes that have a rubber pointed tip on one end and a brush on the other.

I put a microfiber towel over the rubber tip and then coat the microfiber tip with your polish/wax of choice.
