    We cut open headlights when doing tests, and they are very thick, at about .100" or more. Don't think you could sand through if you tried, at least not easily.

    However, some alignment tips (those 2 or 3 protrusions on the headlight surface) are hollow and you could sand through them.

    Worse set was a 1999 Jeep Cheroke that had been restored badly 2 years ago. Filmed it and will post by Wednesday.

    If the micro cracks are no larger than 1500 grit sandpaper, a good final protective coating should fill them in.

    This was the worst, a 2001 Toyota Camry.



    It had some crazing going throughout the lens that couldn't be sanded out.





    But they turned out about a thousand times better than they were.
