Talking Looking for a mentor B-)

I'm looking for someone to kinda show me the ropes when it comes to professional detailing. I would like to be at least mobile in the next 5 years. I know all the basics right now. I guess what I'm looking for is a buddy to do weekend detailing of our own cars to start.

I live in Michigan and if you do too and are interested shoot me a PM.

A mentor is always a great thing to have but honestly the best resource you have is yourself. If you want to learn something more do research and then take the plunge and buy a buffer when you think you are ready. No one starts off as a expert or professional but with more experience comes better knowledge. Best of luck finding a detail buddy.

Thanks. I agree with you on all points. Really I'm looking to find someone with the same passion for detailing so we can brain storm and learn from one another. Seeing as I have only ever detailed my own vehicle along with the occasional friend or relatives car. I feel I lack the overall experience and exposure needed to succeed to the level I would like.

I had the same problem as you when I first joined AG. I've always done friends and relatives along with my own vehicles for years until AG gave me the knowledge and know how to expand my knowledge and open a part time business. I'm by no means an expert but since I started doing other vehicles that I normally would never touch I've learned tons from what I thought I knew before. And as far as finding someone that has the same passion as you for detailing that's what this forum is for! Read all you can and if you have a question search first then if you can't find what your looking for post away! This site has so much knowledge available it's not even funny
