Could you use ONR be used in paint prep?

I will be painting the floor pans in my car. There is a layer of dust on them from sitting in my shop.

Would I be safe using ONR to remove the dust then a final wipe of xylene?

I can't imagine that ONR would leave anything behind the xylene wouldn't remove, if it leaves anything behind at all.

I guess you could use it but you might be better off with an all purpose cleaner. Xylene is a pretty potent solvent. Why are you using this instead of something like Prep-Sol or another body wash?

You make a good point. I usually use PPGs DX330. After re reading the instructions for the paint I'm using it only states to use Xylene for cleanup.

So I'll go back to my normal prep process.

    Thanks!!!!

The other thing of course is that ONR has polymers in it that will probably interfere with the paint.

The polymers in ONR can be painted over and will cause no issue.
