Midnight Sun Application Tips??
Tossed a coat on last night, and it seems my technique is lacking in hand application. I can't seem to find the right balance using a generic foam applicator. I either load it too much making thin application near impossible, or too little which leaves gaps in application causing me to overlap more than I would like... in turn making the wax layer less than the ideal "thin".
I know when shooting for thin applications a machine app makes life much easier, which I will be doing tonight with my shiny new red LC HT pad, but is there anything I can do to refine my thin application by hand technique?

Did you prime your pad before starting?
Priming your pad when working by hand

I used midnight sun the other day and had a great experience with it, however, I was primarily applying by machine.
With hand application I would put just enough on your applicator, then make a swipe down the center of the panel you are working on, then spread out from there.
IME machine application is the way to go, and better 2 thin coats than 1 thick coat.

Contrary to what people describe on here, I found it difficult to apply/remove by hand as well. Some panels it went quite well, others were a real chore to remove/buff as it must have gone on thicker.
Once you try something ultra easy like P21s concourse look, its pretty difficult to go through that hassle again.

I almost never use foam applicators.
I always apply too much when using foam.
I have a lot of scrap microfiber and apply all pastes and liquids with them.
IMO, it helps keep you from applying too much product.

You must have applied it very thick for it to be difficult. I just can't imagine it being difficult. Its really one of the easiest waxes to wipe off ime.
Maybe a conflict with the paint cleaner you used or maybe something else.
