Will waxes freeze
Just getting into detailing, today my order arrived, wax, swirl remover, polish, color enhancer etc.... My detached garge isn't heated all the time, is it ok to store in garage in the cold? It will rarely if ever get below freezing.

I like to keep my detailing products in a stable climate at room temperature. Wide spread temperature variations can reduce the life of some products.

Agreed. Both heat and freezing temps make some of the products separate into some weird semi-collodial blob, that renders them less effective.

Re: Will waxes freeze
In the summer I leave many of my products in the garage since it doesn't get too hate (maybe 80 on the worst days as long as the door is down). However, winter I do not leave anything outside. I actually accidentally left a sample of the Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant on the one shelf in the garage...it separated and won't shake back up anymore to an even consistency

Re: Will waxes freeze
I bring on my products in for the winter. It will affect some products much more then others. How cold are we talking? You could always contact the manufacture and see what they say!

Re: Will waxes freeze
i agree with the others, i just keep my bottles permanently inside easier then transporting my stuff back and forth between seasons.to trent, check out the WGDGPS thread and i have a method of how to get it mixed back together. that is if you haven't seen it already!

Re: Will waxes freeze
Do you guys use these theories just for waxes, or does the theory apply to all your products; QD's, protectants, dressings (Meguiars HD), leather cleaners, glass cleaner, etc, etc??
My waxes and my car wash soap come inside...no brainer. But curious about the other stuff as well??

Re: Will waxes freeze
I keep almost everything inside. Occasionally I'll leave a few things in the garage that get used up and refilled quicker than others (like my ARO or UWWP) Anything that won't get used up quickly comes inside at the end of every weekend. In FL my garage gets so hot during the summer the products could boil out LOL.
For me the better question is do my waxes ever go outside LOL! I use sealants, coatings so often.
