So I feel like my windshield is completely ruined...

Alright, so back in early October, I bought a wonderful wax called Collinite 845, and it's definitely holding up well on the car.

The problem is, I applied it to my windshield (I actually found that some users here even do that with C845 and other waxes)...big big big mistake.

Now, whenever rain happens, I get this:

If you try to wipe the water off, whether with your hand, towel, or windshield blade, this pattern that looks like camo occurs, like something is trapped underneath...

I tried stripping the wax, from what I remember, I've tried:

    -Dish soap
    -Windex
    -Invisible Glass
    -Diet Coke
-Acetone (real strong stuff, not nail polish)
    -Goo Be Gone

After all this, this pattern still occurs. Either this was is very strong (water seems to still bead on windshield...) or my window is stubborn/ruined.

    Any help appreciated, thank you.

Wash the windshield with APC and let it dry on there. Then rinse and wash with your regular soap. That should definitly do it

You could also just clay it

I would use glass cleaner and steel wool #0000. Then I would try compounding the windshield. M105 and a DA should remove those nasty stains.

    APC? Like Ammonia?

I'll try that once I can get some.

I was thinking about a claybar or even 0000 steel wool...probably be my last resorts.

What is DA? I'm not familiar with all the tools and products lol.

Alright, so I'll get some Simple Green then. Otherwise I'll try that Meguiar's stuff, seems pretty nice.

Try using some of this...its supposed to strip paint of old wax. Do no spray it directly on to the windshield as you may run the risk of stripping the wax on the paint. Spray it on a terry cloth or something. It worked great with removing my LSP from my previous detail. I've never used it on glass though.

    Get anything but that

Castrol Power Clean or Purple Power are 2 OTC products you should try. Both can be mixed 50/50 and provide excellent results

This seems like good stuff. I could even use it for next time when I have to re-wax my car.

    Any other suggestions?

Alright, so I guess I'm skipping simple green. I thought that would be a good APC lol.
