    long lasting wax/sealant advice?

    Hi everyone,
I am detailing a new vehicle for a client today who is getting ready to take his annual migratory trip to Florida for the winter and wont return until spring. I am currently claying the vechile and will use WG Paintwork Polish Enhancer to clean the paint good. I have several products to choose from, but would like everyones experince and opinions on which one they would recommend. The LSP's are:

    1. Wolfgang DGPS
    2. Blackfire Wet Diamond
    3. Menzerna Powerlock
    4. DP Polycoat
    5. Collinte 845
    6. Collinte 915
    7. Collinte 476
    8. FK Hi Temp Paste Wax

    Thank you,

    Tom

How much time do you have to work on the clients car?

Personally I would use a sealant like Wet Diamond or Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and top it with 845. I recommend doing at least a sealant topped with a wax if you can.

Use something you know lasts as well.

I recommend using Menzerna Powerlock topped with Collinite 915

Just my opinion of course. You can't go wrong with any of the listed LSP's.

How long any wax or paint sealant lasts is very dependent upon how the paint is physically "touched" afterwards over time.

Wash carefully and product lasts longer, run car through brush style tunnel car wash and product won't last as long.

I've applied the DP Poli-Coat twice to this truck over the last two years and it still looks good today.

Went for a ride with David the other day ago and the paint is still looking good and he's added a camper to the back.

Those are all great products. Can't go wrong with any of them. Like rider9195 said, I would go with a sealant topped with a wax. The Wolfgang DGPS, BlackFire Wet Diamond and Menzerna Power Lock are all great. Hard to choose which one is actually better then the other. And as far as waxes go, the only one I've tried that you have listed is Collinite 845. But 915 and 476 are on my radar

You did not list one product I would not call great. I am with the others sealant/wax. Doesn't really matter what you choose if that is what your working with.

    Thanks everyone!

I am taking a break right now, I ended up going with 476, I figured on a perfectly prepared surface, it's going to last a winter in Florida? Anyways, if you put on thin with the DA, it's very easy to remove and leaves a nice slick finish. I will end up topping it with Optimium Spray wax. Oh, it's a white Toyota Sienna...

    Thanks again everyone!

Not does it matters Tom, but your customer does know that he has no clear coat on that white Toyota.

Well, it might be but because it's new, but there was no paint transfered to the pads when I used a paint cleaner?

I'm no fan of mini-vans, but figured I would take some pics on how shiney it turned out.

Sure is some good gloss on that van. Not always hard to achieve with white either. Good job! Nice and protected now.
