    Sonus Trim & Motor Kote

Saw it on bogo and it looks interesting.

Says it "Outperforms all silicone gels, sprays and creams!"

Ive been looking for something to apply to my wheel wells and rubber/plastic trim that will last and for cheap.

It says its an acrylic sealant as opposed to a dressing.

    What say you autogeek'ians.

Edit: Looked at some reviews and I am now thinking its not so great. Comes out splotchy it seems doesn't look very good. These were old posts though, maybe its changed?

I've used it on my rame rails and wheel wells on my F150 and I was dismayed at first. Saw the same results of being splotchy. I gave ita light second coat and the next morning it leveled right out. This was 3 weeks ago and its still going strong after some rains and daily driving. The key is too let it sit and level out. I would purchase it again for sure.

Its milky white and very runny and messy. I absolutely hated it.

I had the same problem. I can honestly say that this is the only Sonus product I didn't like.

I love it. Mist on very thinly and don't touch it or look at it for 30 min. It will level itself out and look great. Durability is very impressive. The problem everyone is having is that they over apply. A very light spray is all that is required and let sit. If it appears overly milky on the surface, you over applied it. Two thin coats it better than a heavy coat.

For those that don't like it..... Send me your unused portion and I will use it.

thin layers an hour or so apart is how to get the best results from this product.

This is a great product that I was turned onto by Doc. It is easily the best engine dressing I have ever used. Just spray it on and forget about it. Works great on wheel wells too!

IMO...Probably one of the more vehicle/user friendly products out there.

    (From: premiumfinishcare.com/resources/sonusMSDS)

    Ingredient: CAS#; percentage

    Water: CAS#7732-18-5; Balance
    Acrylic Polymer: CAS# 0009003-01-4; 1-3%
    Nonionic Surfactant: CAS# 9019-45-9; 1-2%
    Polydimethysiloxane: CAS# 63148-62-9; 4-8%

I will suggest, though, to follow Dr OLDZ' advice on application methods.

Re: Sonus Trim & Motor Kote

I just used it for the first time today. I'll let you know how it turns out after it settles. I applied one coat (5-7 sprays over the entire engine) and followed up with a second coat about 45 minutes later.

It's been 2 hours, still streaky looking. Hope I didn't use to much. If I used any less, I would not have covered enough of the engine surface.
