OPC..Has anyone else experienced this?

I really like the versatility of this product and love the way it "eats" the brake dust on my rims....The thing I have noticed is after using it on my wheels is that a white film appears...I'm using it diluted 3-1 and I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what do you do about it?

I have not experienced this but I don't use OPC alone. Anytime I clean wheels I have a bucket with soap and water close by. I spray whatever wheel cleaner I choose, allow to dwell, then dip my Dayton Speed Master brush in the soapy water and scrub. If you don't have time for this process, maybe try following up with a spray detailer to remove residue.

^^^ agree 100% i dip my brush in soap as well and usually go around the entire rim again w/just soap to remove anything opc left behind

The other question to be asked here is: are your wheels clear coated, or no?

I've never had an issue with OPC reacting to a bare metal surface, but I wouldn't say it can't happen....

Make sure the wheels are cool and that the product doesn't dry to prevent residue. As long as it stays wet, it will rinse completely.

I have had this happen to me before. So I applied a coat of wheel sealant to the rims. No more issues to report thus far.

I have not had that problem with OPC but I have had it with Amazing Roll Off. It's just a residue of product that has dried. A good wash with a sponge and car wash soap takes care of it. As said earlier, waxing the wheels helps.

I have seen it once. When I let the product accidentally dry before rinsing!

Couldn't have said it better myself

Just one thing to add. If you are like me and rinse the wheel off to check it and make sure you got it perfectly clean, do not dry it. If it needs another shot do it at once. If you let partially removed crud dry it seems to be ten times more difficult to remove.
And I have had very good luck diluting it 5 to 1, or even less. It works so well that just making sure the wheel is wet before using your brush, and giving it time to really soak in works wonders.
