    Coming Soon: Project Lucille

Just wanted to share a couple pictures of a car that I recently acquired. This is a 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that was owned by my in-laws. They originally bought the car new in 1988 with 83 miles on the odometer. The car now sits with 139,732 miles on it. After sitting for 7 years and having many discussions with my father-in-law, the car is now mine . Going out tomorrow to start some basic maintenance to get it started so that I can move it to my house. Anyway, I have attached a few pictures as it sits in the garage.

Let's just say that my wife is not thrilled about me acquiring this car! This will be replacing my SRT-4 Neon as my daily driver, so the mileage will go way up on it. In the last 2 1/2 years I have put 76,000 miles on my Neon .

The interesting part to me is the fact that my father-in-law repainted the car with 3 coats basecoat and 3 coats of clear, to the best of his knowledge. I know, who forgets stuff like that, but it happens. Never been in an accident and no rust that I've found. Always garage kept!

Those are really great cruisers. Their clear coat is horrible though

    Good luck Richard

Richard, when your in-laws see what you will do to it to transform it, they will be pissed off at you! Get your wife in the backseat....can't do that in your Neon, hahahhahahaha.

Don't know why your wife wouldn't be happy about you getting the car.... or did you use this as the excuse to buy the DeWalt?

Congrats on the acquisition... those 3800 V6es are bulletproof!
