I was in the same boat as you a month ago.
Got really excited about the Meguiars Dual Action 6 Inch Polisher G110v2 with their new MF system!
Read too much here and got confused on what product to start with on my dark blue Lexus LS460.
Called Autogeek and explained my situation to the sales person and she said let me put you through to Mike Phillips...that was a blessing!
Mike clarified for me that that the Mequiars DA MF system was really designed for production detail environments and not newbies like me. He said I needed a "bubba proof" solution...was it my southern accent? No, I made it clear that I didnt want to get frustrated and do more harm to my paint than I could recover from given my limited skill set.
He recommended the Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover Kit 3.0 and Pinnacle Souverän™ Carnauba Paste Wax based on my situation and I couldnt be more pleased with the results.
After washing & claying the car on Friday, I went to work with the Wolfgang twins plus sealant on Saturday...waited for the sealant to cure...then waxed the car on Sunday morning. Got rid of 95% of all my micro swirls, all of the dealership's polishing holograms and some surprising clear-coat scratches. All the products were super easy to use and the best part was the super DEEP shine.
I appreciate Mike encouraging me to keep it simple and "Bubba proof"
Good luck in whatever you decide!

Hey Doug,
That I do, but after I originally put all this together I discovered that it contained so much valid and accurate information I keep posting all of it or sections of it and it continues to fit..
