Griot's Garage 6 inch Random Orbital Polisher?

Hey guy's going to purchase Griots 6inch is this a good machine for a beginner?

Also What else will I need pads, wax etc.

My Car is a silver C63 amg what is a good carnauba wax for this car?

The Griots is a great Dual Action Polisher to start off with.

You will most likely want to use 5.5 inch flat pads from Lake Country.

This is my daily driver so I want to protect the paint and get that wet look. the car is only about 5 months old so the paint is in pretty good condition.

I was thinking about getting some paint sealant and adding some carnauba on top. Is that a good idea?

griots is great, like it way better than my porta cable. if you got the funds, my flex is by far the best.

That would be fine. The Sealant will protect your car and the wax will make it have a warm glow usually. I don't have much experience with wax, but DP Max Wax, Souveran, Fuzion are all good waxes. I have heard that Souveran is more for light colors such as your silver car. For the sealant I like Menzerna Power Lock.

For the polishes and compounds there are many routes you can take.I like working with Meguiar's M105 for a heavy compound then M205 for a lighter compound/polish to take out the hazing M105 leaves behind. Sometimes, on soft paints, and especially black cars I like using Menzerna PO85RD, but since you have a silver car I would think that the M205 would finish down nicely.

You can also get the new Meguiar's Microfiber system or even try some of Menzerna's compounds and polishes. Like I said everyone has a preference.

For the pads I would get Lake Country Flat 5.5 inch pads. I might get two 6 packs and go with 4 Orange, 3 White, 3 black and 2 blue. Each of them are used for certain things. For example the orange and white pads are for compounding while the black and blue pads are more for extremely fine polish possibly or a sealant.

You can also switch out a pad to get the desired "cut" that you want. So you can use the hardest pad (orange) with M105 or you can use a little softer pad (white) with M105 which will decrease your cutting power. This is good, because you only want to take off the minimum paint that is required to correct the defects.

Sealant and carnuba will work nicely. Lots of choices. I've used Pinnacle XMT 360 and Poorboys EX-P on my new truck with really nice results. Choose your favorite AG brand and have at it.

You will also need a couple polishing pads like a CCS white and black, or Hydrotech Tangerine & Crimson to apply the polish.

Note that the Griots comes with a 6" plate. I've found the Griots will spin 6.5" pads quite well. You might not need 5.5" pads and a separate extra cost plate that many recommend when just starting out.

Hmmm, from what I've read the Souveran is supposed to be better on dark colors and reds, especially non-metallic. The Signature II (one step down and $50 cheaper) is the one for light/all colors and metallic. I saw some good reviews on the XMT 360 as well which is all colors, but since I already have the Signature II I'm sticking with that myself. It makes the metallic flakes in my silver pop right out of the paint

I have pretty much figured out what I'm Getting.
Flex,m205,powerlock and lake country pads.
Just not sure on wax what do you think of the dodo juice Diamond White.
