New Package Arrives!

Hey everyone, I got a $50 gift certificate to AG for my Birthday earlier this month. Of course there is no way I could have spent only $50 at AG! So I pitched in a few bucks of my own. Plus, I ordered during one of the fantastic giveaway specials. Meghan sent me some nice gifts: Clearkote Red Machine Glaze, Clearkote Compound Moose, and two Miracle Towels!

The package came just in time to wash the car during a nice day. In Dallas we had some nasty weather (for here), rain and ice. Then the weather warmed up to 70! I did not use the new moose products but I did use 3 of the new items I purchased.

The Wheel Schmitt - worked very well; however, with the small spaces on my wheels I ended up following the schmitt with my Meg's wheel brush. I did like the wheel Schmitt for the wheel wells!

The Guzzler - Killr got me hooked on using a leaf blower and I even bought an air wand. I love it! I've been wanting to get a guzzler so after washing the car I tried no leaf blower and just used the Guzzler. The guzzler is incredible!! Wow! It made drying the car a snap.

Clearkote Quick Shine - Upon first application I was not so impresed, but then an hour or so later I noticed the car had a deeper shine to it. Then we got rain and the water beaded like crazy on the windshield and car. QS is my new favorite QD!

Very hard to spend only $50 on AG.
I really like QuikShine myself. Resently ordered a gallon of it before they discontinued that line.

I have never heard of using a leaf blower to dry your car. I do use an air gun on an compresser all the time to blow water off my cars when drying. This along with a guzzler it works great. The air gun works great blowing the water out of grill work, wheels or any spot that is hard to get to. If your car is sealed/waxed good you can just about blow all the water off your car without even touching it with a MF towel.

Come to think of it a leaf blower might work good on blowing the water out of the bed liner on my pickup.

It is hard to spend only $50.00 at AG. Although with all of the specials lately I'm getting pretty well stocked up. My wallet is empty but my shelfs are full of supplies.

I use a electric leaf blower b/c on our suv's the water just loves to collect in around the seals for the windows and will drip till it's gone, plus all the nooks and crannies etc. I don't bother drying witha towel b/c I'd have to keep drying over and over again untill the water stops dripping. Whip out the electric blower and I get rid of water, then just follow up with my micros and qd'er. If you car is waxed as well, the water will just shoot right off from the blower. Though you'll get many strange looks from neighbors and landscapers

The only thing I would worry about when using a leaf blower is sand blasting your car. My leaf blowers like a small hurricane and covers a wide area. If your blow drying and side of your car and you have sand, small rocks or whatever around it your could end up blowing them right at your car at over 100 mph. With a air compressor and air gun it's much more controled. I do think it will work good on the bed liner of my truck.

Woah ... we have an air compressor and an air gun!! yah! because my husband would not buy a leaf blower.... thanks for the great idea, gary!!!!!

That's all I've pretty much ever used since I started really detailing our cars, no marring at all, actually theres less marring as I don't even touch it witha towel to dry. I have an electric one I got from I think Sears, not as powerful as a gas one, but I always have it an an downward angle so if there is any debris it isn't blown at the cars. So quick to dry, I've never even had to use the guzzler or other absorbent towel. I just follow up with micros and some qd'er.

Ask Scott and a few others on here I can't remember off hand that use a blower as well. The biggest plus for me is that the water doesn't drip like if I normally tried to dry. On our suvs water just collects in nooks and crannies and around the window sill where a blower will blow it right out. If I dry witha towel the window seals will still drip 4 or 5 times (after catching it each time witha towel).

I wouldn't suggest a gas one. I got little oil drops all over the car when I tried our gas one....it was a huge mistake. The exhause is on the same side of the blower as the blown air comes out.

I had to was the car all over again, and still had trouble getting all the oil off.

I now have an electric blower with a filter on the air intake. Works great to get most of the water off.

Same here. I keep putting a Guzzler in my cart and then remove it. I really want to try a Guzzler because of all the buzz on this forum but I'm not sure I really need one because I use the blower. My neighbors think I'm crazy when i bust out the leaf blower.
