Does a light cleaning remove interior protectants?

A couple of weeks ago, I treated my car's dash and doors with 303 and the leather seats with OPP. Last weekend, I did a light interior cleaning with a damp MF towel (just water, no cleaners). Do I need to reapply the protectants or will they survive a wipedown with water?

After a couple of weeks I would go ahead and reapply the protectants anyway.

It will remove the protectant for the most part. Even just water.

Interior protectants for the most part are not very durable and do not last long. Any product applied whether interior or exterior begin to degrade as soon as they're applied. Water, humidity, sun, contact with skin or clothing under normal use will remove them as well.

If you're getting two weeks out of your interior protectant then you're doing good...

Definitely depends on the product but with 303 I would go ahead and reapply it.

Rasky, what interior protectants might stand up to a damp water wipedown?

Hmm, then it sounds like interior protectant is a good candidate for gallon-sized purchases. Maybe I'll try going with OPP for the dash and trim too since 303 gets expensive.

Or would it be better for me to use a dry MF for light dusting and leave the wet wipedowns for monthly cleanings? I keep my car pretty clean, so it's generally just a little bit of dust I'm taking off. I would do the skin contact areas (steering wheel, armrests, etc.) with a wet wipedown and reapply protectant more often.

I cant speak for Rasky,

But Meguiars Ultimate Protectant will last for months on an interior.
