If your car was 100% aluminum you would have paid a whole lot more for it. While it's technically a cheap metal, when it's used in automotive applications it suddenly gets expensive.

Probably need to spend more for a better PTG that can read metal and none metal.

I have my eye on one, but its going to take a long time to save up the $2,500 for it. Not high on the list, for obvious reasons.

Re: My PTG won't read my hood.

I didn't see the video, but I know that a lot of higher end cars will have aluminum hoods, doors, and trunk lids. Not many will have EVERYTHING aluminum unless it is a jaguar XJ (seems to be one of thier trademarks). My last car (Infiniti G35 Coupe) was aluminum doors and hood. My current car (911TT) I don't believe anything is aluminum and it still only weighs 3400 lbs with a full AWD system in it

Most PTG will read on metal bodied, or non metal bodied. Doesn't matter if the car is aluminum or steel.
