    Hyper Dressing

So I finally decided I needed to work on my Tire shine options so I figured I'd get the all in one tire shine product I hear so much about.

Well I was less then impressed with the inital application. the stuff is runny... I tried the Gloss 1:1 on my truck and the satin 3:1 on my Gf's acura. They are very close in gloss to the Eye. The stuff is very thin and hard to spread evenly. The finish seemed inconsistant on the acura even taking a second trip around all tires after rolling the car backa couple feet to hit the down side of the tire and to smooth out the finish

Are other people getting the same results? I have a gallon of this stuff to use up and its going to cost me in time to triple check the results.

I let it dwell for 10ish minutes and buffed off with terry cloth towels.... did I do soemthing wrong?

Hmmm, didn't know that many people were using HD on tires. I generally prefer Meguiars ASD for tires or GC High Endurance Gel. Since HD is water based (I believe) I don't think it is best suited for tires.

I use it for my engine details and my wheel wells, but not tires. Maybe someone with more experience on tire use can give you some tips.

I use a Foam AG aplicator pad. I use 3:1 on all my clients tires. It gives the tire a rick black satin look. Try this next time, Apply with foam pad wipe off. Then apply a very thin amount on the tires again to make sure it doesnt run then wait about 5-10 minutes and wipe off access.

You want to always use a water base dressing on your tires. You dont want silicone and other stuff they put in long lasting tire dressing getting on your rims and tires. I put two coats on my truck 3:1 leaving using the method I posted above and my tires stay looking clean for 2-4 weeks. You also dont get that nasty flig off the tires and when you wash your rims and tires there is no nasty silicone getting all over your brushes.
