CFM VS. WATER LIFT VS. AIR WATTS! What determines the best vac?

I used my Ridgid like never before today. Did someone say water lift? I filled and emptied it like 6 times. I wound up positioning the vac in a corner and had it on while using the pressure washer to push water into the vacuum nozzle to suck up all the mud.

But I just have been doing allot of research on all the different variables that determine which vacuum is best.

It actually has to do with a combination of CFM and Lift that work together to create the most efficient vacuum. Then there is Air Watts that come into the equation. Confusing right?
IMO it's both quality and quanitiy. CFM's are important but also the details of what you're using the tool for and how clean the output air is also important.

I spent a bit more and went with a Flex VCE 44L first, because I use it with my Tornador, and the Flex has the very best and most safe air filtration system going down to a .3 micron size thus no bacteria or microbes that I may be pulling out of a vehicle will escape and enter the air I'm breathing. That was my first concern.

Next, it's super quiet. The only real noise you hear is the air it's pulling in. The motor isn't silent but it's super quiet. Hard to distinguish between the motor and again, the airflow. Important as I'm using it in my garage and I don't need any more noise in my life.

CFM's. It's powerful running at a full 1,200 watts and using 15 amps. It pulls in so much air that it has a dial to turn it down. 148CFM's combined with a tornador, and it will pull the carpet up off the floor and out from the trim if you're not careful. LOL! Lastly, it's flex quality. I have ZERO doubt this beast, which is designed for drywall and asbestos removal in commercial work environments, will give me issues down the road. It will likely be the last one I'll need to buy given I baby it with just using it on vehicles.

Lots of great features including a self unclogging mechanism in case you suck up something you shouldn't or normally wouldn't like a sock or napkin or rage, etc. It will clear itself and not skip a beat.

I thought about Plastidipping mine, but it seemed too hard to do so I just cleaned it and applied some Mckees Plastic Trim Restorer on it and it turned out looking real good.
