    Dark grey or white

    Hi all

I’m in the market for a new car. Specifically, I am going to buy an i30N (big wait list here in Aus if I go the hatch and not the sedan). I currently have a black car and while I love it, I swore never again (like everyone). Just scratches too easy and gets dirty very quickly. I put Gyeon Pure on and it about 8 months ago and it looks awesome. I’ll also probably be getting the front PPF’d as I plan on keeping this car a while and for it to be my track toy as well as daily.

The two colors I’m deciding between are white and dark knight (dark metallic grey). Normally I only like some cars in white but this one looks good with the dark wheels, red trim and calipers in my view. I can’t decide which I like the look of more. In terms of maintenance, white wins hands down of course… but I don’t think it pops as much, which is important for those of us in this hobbie. I don’t have much experience with dark metallic grey like this so I was wondering what people think would be like to maintain? My thoughts are it will hide defects/swirls better, but present the same problems with trying to keep it clean as black does?

Also, what’s everyone’s thoughts on which color you like?

I agree grey for the pop. White is boring and hard to make it pop.

White looks like a commercial delivery truck.

I will never own anything other than white- dark colors look dirty faster

    Re: Dark grey or white

I have a white metallic and blue metallic I maintain right now. I would need to make some serious investment in lighting to find the swirls on that white metallic. I know they're there but I can't find them. Dark grey or white

On the blue metallic the swirls smack me in the face daily. For that reason alone I'm moving towards white on black wheels.

Get white. It’ll be much easier to hide in the crowd and you won’t have to worry about making it pop - save a lot of time detailing

    Re: Dark grey or white

Colors are a very personal choice. Everything I own now is black and black is my favorite color... But if I were to choose a color besides black, it would be white.

And I'm talking straight white and straight black... No metallics.

    Re: Dark grey or white

    I'd suggest a silver metallic.
